Using Facebook for Voter Registration
Below are some tips for developing groups, pages and events on Facebook.
According to the 2010 NAR Member Profile, over 50 percent of all REALTORS® now utilize social or professional networking sites for their business or personal use. Most strikingly, of those ages 50 to 59 years, that number has increased from 32 percent in 2009 to 52 percent in 2010. Of those members 29 years old and under, the usage increases to 79 percent and continues to grow.
If you are interested in registering and mobilizing voters, Facebook applications prove to be very useful. Creating Facebook pages, events, groups and utilizing Facebook advertising can help to further your outreach and increase your voter registration success rates. Similar low or no-cost features can also be found on other social networking sites, as well.
